Basic Pocket TQ Pouch

Description

The Basic Pocket TQ Pouch is a hybrid version of our Basic Pocket Mag Pouch that is specifically designed to hold a flat-folded SOF-T Tourniquet or Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) in one pocket, and many common items that will fit in the other pocket. This versatile Medium-size second pouch can be hold most spare pistol magazines (1911, 9mm double-stack; will not fit .45ACP or 10mm double-stack), revolver Quick Strips/Speed Strips for shorter cartridges like .22LR, pocket knives, flashlights, small pepper spray dispensers, lighters, sunblock tubes, EpiPens, portable backup batteries, etc. See the chart below for more sizing guidance.

The BP TQ Pouch is an outstanding pocket gear organizer. It properly orients and positions the items for consistent grip and easy use. You can also mix and match magazines and other EDC items, such as flashlights or folding knives. The contents are limited only by your imagination.

The BPMP line of carriers is made from our super heavy-duty XHD elastic webbing and stitched to last through years of daily pocket rigors. The XS through LG sizes will comfortably fit in most pockets, while the XL fits best in pants or jacket cargo pockets. Made with our XHD elastic nylon webbing for optimal retention and ease of draw. The BPMP is a little smaller and more minimalist than its sister product the Pocket Modular Pouch when those are mated as a pair. The BPMP is more adaptable to other items than the PMP due to its stretchy XHD elastic construction. Most BPMPs have two identically-sized pouches. However, the “hybrids” are an offshoot made with two different sized pockets for differently-sized items.

We engineered the BPMP to feature 1G of retention with the specific items listed. The shallow “V” of the center stitch creates slightly more tension at the top of the pouch and mitigates items being “squeezed” up and out over time. This means that with the appropriate item inserted, you should be able to turn the carrier upside down and the item will not fall out unless you shake it. Items will typically glide out when withdrawn while the carrier is inside of a pocket because friction is helping to hold it in place. However, items such as TUFF QuickStrips or Bianchi Speed Strips, longer .357 Magnum cartridges, or even bullet profile may impact this fit and tension.

The popular POM pepper spray/OC canister fits very well in sizes #2 Short and #3 Short. The #2 Short also does well with small flashlights, smaller Leatherman Skeletool-sized multitools, .22LR QuickStrips, and similar. The #3 Short does well retaining Zippo lighters and Apple AirPod-sized earbud cases.

While the listed sizes are rated to be ideal for the specified magazines, the XHD construction allows a great deal of sizing overlap. However, this may result in greater or lesser retention than our 1G design intent.
